StevenDouglas has been retained by a rapidly growing, PE owned technology and construction organization to find a Tax Manager near their location in Fairfax County, Virginia. This role is hybrid and could require some travel (both domestic and global). No sponsorships, no relocation available.
The Tax Manager to take ownership of global income tax compliance across U.S. federal, state, and international jurisdictions. Reporting to the Director of Tax Compliance, you’ll act as the hub between the internal team and external advisors, keep filings on track, and play a key role in year-end reporting. This role suits someone who thrives with autonomy and can juggle multiple priorities without close oversight.
Responsibilities
- Run the end-to-end compliance cycle, setting deadlines, gathering data for external advisors, and signing off on filings before submission.
- Calculate and track quarterly tax payments worldwide, and keep tax balances on the books accurate through monthly reconciliations.
- Partner on year-end income tax reporting under ASC 740, from deferred tax analysis to financial statement disclosures.
- Handle correspondence and examinations with tax authorities, and stay ahead of law changes that could affect the company’s obligations.
- Lead and mentor team members, streamline workflows through technology, and contribute to planning and deal-related projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus an active CPA license.
- 7+ years in corporate income tax, gained in public accounting, industry, or both.
- Solid grasp of ASC 740 and U.S. international filings such as Forms 5471 and Schedules K-2/K-3.
- Hands-on experience with international tax in EMEA and/or APAC (Africa experience highly valued), along with familiarity with OECD Pillar Two.
- Strong organizational and Excel skills, comfort with large data sets, and the ability to communicate tax matters clearly to non-specialists.
- Background in a multinational, fast-growing, or capital-intensive business.
