The nurse will be responsible for providing care to trauma and surgical patient populations. Nurses in this area operate on a 1:6 patient ratio and work within an interdisciplinary team approach. The staff on this unit are experts in trauma, orthopedics, and urology. Collaboration with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists is essential. The unit values individualized attention for all patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, and observation. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in the specialty. A nursing degree is required, along with the requisite certifications and licensure. Additional experience of 18 months may be considered if working at the highest level of professional license. This position may require working weekends and holidays as needed.
