Strategic Partnerships, Inc., (SPI), a Texas-based procurement consulting and research firm with a national and international reputation for partnering public- and private-sector entities has an opening for a Managing Editor for its Digital News Division. As part of its mission to remain a thought leader in government procurement, SPI has launched Government Market News, the go-to source for original, timely, breaking and trustworthy reporting on every aspect of the U.S. government marketplace. The firm also publishes two digital newsletters, Texas Government Insider and Government Contracting Pipeline. SPI is looking for a managing editor who can lead the daily production of Government Market News and oversee the two weekly newsletters. Candidates with either journalism or research background and strong project‑management abilities are encouraged to apply. This position is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday in our Austin office, 7500 Rialto Blvd. Responsibilities Managing daily editorial operations, including assigning, editing and working with content creators on daily and long‑term assignments, ensuring content is accurate, relevant and on time Ensuring content has relevant and necessary components, including photos, tags and other metadata Overseeing the transfer of content to platforms, including websites, email newsletter, social media, ETC Maintaining a database of daily, weekly and long‑term assignments to ensure content is published consistently Managing a creative team, including matching content to creators and assigning workloads to ensure content creation is always available Managing creators’ time sheets and supervising personnel schedules Hire, coach and supervise freelancers Requirements and Skills Proven experience as managing editor, project manager or relevant role Good capabilities in copywriting and editing Proficiency in English Knowledge and understanding of government procurement, government in general, business and public‑private partnerships 2+ years of hands‑on experience managing WordPress websites Proficiency with modern page builders and the standard block editor Basic understanding of HTML and CSS for minor styling tweaks Familiarity with foundational SEO practices and image optimization Strong attention to visual detail, typography, and layout alignment Excellent organizational skills to manage publishing calendars and content pipelines Good organizational and leadership skills Outstanding communication and people skills Self‑starter, team player and congenial individual Job Type Full‑time Pay From $75,000.00 per year Benefits Simple IRA Simple IRA matching Dental insurance Vision Insurance Health insurance Life Insurance Health savings account Paid time off Experience Project management: 3 years (Required) Copywriting & Editing: 2 years (Required) WordPress: 1 year (Required) State & Local Government experience of either employment, or interaction: 1 year preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Nashville Public Radio
