About the Role Equity Research Analyst (Small Cap Opportunities) The analyst will focus on alpha generation and work within the Small Cap Opportunities (SCO) Portfolio Management team that manages over $12billion in small and SMID‑cap opportunistic strategies. Expectation is to provide research, collaborate with portfolio managers, and communicate findings. Essential Skills Opportunistic/Growth Investing Acumen – Experience and passion for investing in small‑cap stocks from a Growth to GARP style with a fundamental, research‑oriented, bottom‑up approach. Ability to incorporate top‑down sector and macro views and articulate findings to the portfolio manager. Superior Collaboration and Influencing – Strong ability to build trusting relationships internally and with company management teams. Comfortable taking risk, challenging views, admitting mistakes, and communicating action‑oriented opinions with conviction. Growth Mindset – Willingness to continue learning, evolve and grow as an investor. Additional Qualifications 10+ years of experience with small‑cap equity research and/or portfolio management. Sector expertise in healthcare and/or technology (preferred); generalist coverage acceptable. Strong bottom‑up fundamental research approach. Proven track record of successful investment recommendations and alpha generation. Intellectual curiosity and willingness to take risks. Self‑awareness and confidence to admit being wrong. Strong work ethic, attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills. Academic credentials: MBA or CFA preferred. Location Boston, MA – Global Headquarters. Compensation Base salary range: USD 100,000–225,000. Total compensation may include discretionary bonus, variable pay and comprehensive benefits.
