Durhams Fleet Service values safety, quality workmanship, and timely service to support customers’ day-to-day operations.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Diesel Mechanic role based in Yuma, AZ. The Diesel Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, brake systems, and related components on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. Daily tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, conducting safety inspections, documenting work performed, and identifying parts and materials needed for repairs. The role involves using diagnostic tools, following manufacturer specifications, and collaborating with service team members to prioritize work orders and minimize equipment downtime. The Diesel Mechanic will maintain a clean and safe work area and adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Diesel Mechanics skills, including troubleshooting and repair of engines, fuel systems, and related components.Candidates should possess Vehicle Maintenance skills, including inspection, repair, and servicing of trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles.Candidates should possess Equipment Maintenance skills, including servicing and repairing shop tools and support equipment.Candidates should possess Heavy Equipment skills, including working with loaders, forklifts, and other construction or industrial machinery.Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills, including performing scheduled services, safety checks, and documentation of maintenance activities.Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with diagnostic software and tools, ability to read technical manuals and schematics, and strong problem-solving skills.High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in diesel technology or automotive repair is preferred.Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and work safely in an active shop environment.Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; CDL is a plus.
