Software Quality Control Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to derive test scenarios.

• Design, develop, and maintain detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test data.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UAT testing across multiple platforms.

• Execute manual test cases and log defects with clear steps, evidence, and priority in defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira , Azure DevOps ).

• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to reproduce, analyze, and resolve defects.

• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

• Participate in review sessions for requirements, test cases, and defects.

• Provide accurate testing status updates and contribute to test planning and estimation.

• Support automation testing initiatives (e.g., Playwright , Cypress ) when applicable.

• Follow defined QA processes, standards, and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Validate backend data using SQL queries to ensure data integrity.

• Perform published API testing (SOAP & REST) using tools like SoapUI and Postman .

Requirements

Qualification and Education Requirements:

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or any relevant IT Engineering.

• ISQTB Certifications are preferred.

Minimum Experience/Skills Required:

• 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Control testing.

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).

• Strong knowledge in preparing and executing manual test cases.

• Hands-on defect management and test management tools (e.g., Jira , Azure DevOps ).

• Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for data validation.

• Hands-on API testing tools (e.g., Postman , Rest Assured).

• Hands-on automation testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright , Cypress ).

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
