Senior Financial Accountant

Canal Winchester, Ohio (Hybrid – 3 Days In Office) Direct Hire Why You’ll Love This Job: Hybrid schedule with the flexibility to choose your 3 in-office days each week Flexible start and end times with core availability between 9:00am-4:00pm 20 days of PTO annually, increasing to 25 days after 5 years of employment 7 paid company holidays plus 1 floating holiday each year 401(k) with a 100% company match on employee contributions up to 3% Up to $200 per month toward individual health insurance coverage Annual wellness reimbursement of up to $400 for eligible health club or wellness memberships Opportunity to work closely with executive and finance leadership while taking ownership of a broad range of accounting responsibilities What You’ll Do: Record and maintain accurate accounting entries in accordance with established accounting standards, policies, and internal controls Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while monitoring invoicing, collections, and payment schedules Perform bank, balance sheet, supplier, and customer account reconciliations while researching and resolving discrepancies Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account analysis and preparation of supporting documentation Assist with financial statement preparation, management reporting, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial planning activities Coordinate with external tax advisors and financial institutions while supporting tax filings and statutory reporting requirements Maintain accurate financial records and ensure appropriate documentation is available to support accounting activities and compliance requirements Collaborate across departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information and provide accounting support for ongoing business operations Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to help leadership understand performance and make informed business decisions What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience Strong general accounting experience including journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements Public accounting experience is preferred Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and proactively identify and resolve accounting issues Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Collaborative, driven, and proactive professional who enjoys partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams About Dawson Dawson is a trusted staffing partner in Central Ohio.
