Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join a clinical healthcare team providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, provide patient education, and monitor outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and identify nutrition-related concerns.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and families.
• Monitor patient progress and evaluate outcomes related to nutrition interventions.
• Manage nutrition support therapies including enteral and parenteral nutrition.
• Assess food tolerances and ensure appropriate nutritional intake.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient medical records.
• Participate in community education, in-services, and special projects.
• Mentor and supervise dietetic interns/students as needed.
• Serve as a liaison with culinary wellness and foodservice departments.
• Maintain professional standards, ethics, and continuing education.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent full-time experience (within the last 5 years) as a Registered Dietitian in:
  • Acute Care
  • Nursing Home
  • Inpatient Rehab
  • LTACH setting
• Candidates with less recent experience (within past 8 years) may be considered case-by-case.
• ICU experience preferred.
• Experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition required.
• Must be trained in completion of NFPE.

Education & Certification

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field with ACEND-accredited DPD and supervised practice program required for RD credentials obtained prior to January 1, 2024.
• Master's Degree required for candidates obtaining RD credential on or after January 1, 2024.
• Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
