Accounting Specialist Full Time Seneca KS, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1254 Job Title: Accounting Specialist Location: Seneca, KS Reports To: Senior Accountant FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Prepared Date: September 2026 SUMMARY This position will be support for all aspects of our office. The Accounting Specialist will perform routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in supporting all departments including answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, reconciling and record keeping. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes the following and other duties may be assigned) Responsible for: Accounts payable duties as assigned focusing on company purchases and expenses which will include compiling, coding, posting, check writing and reconciling all records in an efficient manner Assisting Accounts Receivable department with customer payments and various tasks Assisting Energy department with contract entry and various tasks Assisting Agronomy department with contract entry and various tasks Supporting the Grain Department Providing customer service by answering the phone and meeting the customers needs Helping with company mailings including monthly statements Operating Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for reports and correspondence Adhering to cooperative credit policy Reconciling company accounts Daily housekeeping of work area and office Reporting to CFO any cost saving opportunities Securing facilities and equipment when closing Adherence to safety policies Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed Performing all other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must possess computer technology and 10-key calculator operation skills. Must be willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights. REASONING ABILITY The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate personal protective equipment as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.
