About the Role

HighGear is looking for a motivated Digital Marketing Intern to join our marketing team and gain hands-on experience across digital advertising, email marketing, marketing automation, content, and website support.

This role will work closely with the Marketing Manager and broader marketing team, with an initial focus on supporting day-to-day digital marketing activities.

This is an ideal opportunity for a student or early-career marketer who wants exposure to multiple areas of B2B marketing and is interested in learning how a small marketing team plans, executes, measures, and improves campaigns.

You do not need to arrive as an expert. We are looking for someone who is organized, curious, comfortable learning new tools, and willing to roll up their sleeves.

What You’ll Do

Digital Advertising & Campaign Support

• Assist with the execution and day-to-day management of paid digital marketing campaigns.
• Help monitor campaign performance, budgets, leads, and other key metrics.
• Assist with campaign setup, testing, quality assurance, and ongoing optimization.
• Compile campaign performance data and help prepare recurring reports.
• Research audiences, keywords, competitors, and campaign opportunities.
• Help ensure campaign creative, landing pages, tracking links, and other assets are accurate before launch.

Email Marketing & Marketing Automation

• Assist with building, scheduling, testing, and sending marketing emails.
• Help create and maintain email lists, audience segments, and campaign workflows.
• Perform quality assurance checks on emails, links, formatting, personalization, and campaign setup.
• Support lead nurturing and other automated marketing campaigns.
• Monitor email performance, including opens, clicks, conversions, and engagement.
• Help maintain clean and organized marketing data.

Website & Creative Support

Depending on experience and interest, you may also have opportunities to support our graphic designer/webmaster with projects such as:

• Making basic website content updates.
• Formatting and publishing landing pages, blog posts, and other web content.
• Resizing, formatting, or preparing images and marketing assets.
• Assisting with simple graphic design or production tasks.
• Performing website quality assurance and identifying broken links, formatting issues, or outdated content.
• Learning additional web, design, or digital production skills based on your interests and the needs of the team.

General Marketing Support

• Assist with content publishing, campaign coordination, and other marketing projects.
• Conduct market, competitor, customer, and industry research.
• Help organize marketing assets, campaign documentation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members on product launches, campaigns, events, and other initiatives.
• Pitch in wherever needed as part of a small, collaborative marketing team.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, business, advertising, digital media, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with data.
• Organized and able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new marketing tools and techniques.
• Comfortable asking questions and taking feedback.
• Interest in digital marketing, particularly paid advertising, email marketing, marketing automation, or web marketing.

Nice to Have

Experience is not required, but any exposure to the following is a plus:

• Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or other digital advertising platforms.
• Email marketing or marketing automation platforms.
• Google Analytics or digital marketing reporting tools.
• WordPress or another content management system.
• Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, or other design tools.
• HTML/CSS or general website editing.
• SEO or content marketing.
• B2B or technology marketing.

What You’ll Learn

This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience rather than simply administrative work. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how a B2B marketing team:

• Plans and executes digital advertising campaigns.
• Builds email campaigns and marketing automations.
• Measures campaign performance and uses data to improve results.

• Manages website and digital content.
• Coordinates campaigns across multiple marketing channels.
• Uses marketing technology to support sales and business growth.

Because HighGear operates with a small marketing team, you’ll also have the opportunity to see how different marketing disciplines work together and gain exposure to projects that might normally be divided among several specialized teams at a larger company.
