Completion of approved residency in Endocrinology.Licensure: Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC). Valid NYS and DEA license.Experience: At least 1-year experience.Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and managing endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid diseases, osteoporosis, pituitary and adrenal disorders, and metabolic conditions. Experience with electronic health records.Soft Skills: Ability to successfully interact and communicate with a diversified population. Strong clinical judgment, empathy, and patient-centered focus.Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and manage a wide range of endocrine disorders including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, nodules, cancer), osteoporosis, pituitary and adrenal disorders, and metabolic syndromes.Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic tests.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management (insulin, thyroid hormones, etc.) and lifestyle modifications.Order and interpret specialized endocrine testing such as glucose tolerance tests, thyroid ultrasounds, fine-needle aspirations, and hormone level assays.Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, dietary modifications, and preventive care.Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists within the health center network to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in electronic medical records.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, team meetings, and population health management efforts related to endocrine conditions.Stay current with advancements in endocrinology research, treatments, and technologies through continuing medical education.Contribute to community health education and outreach programs related to diabetes prevention and endocrine health awareness.
