Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

• West Chicago, IL
• $34.00 - $38.00 per hour (DOE)
• 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:00pm

We're recruiting for an experienced  Maintenance Technician to join an established Specialty Chemical Manufacturer in West Chicago, IL.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business, taking ownership of maintenance activities across production equipment and facility systems while supporting reliability, safety and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee maintenance activities for production equipment, facility systems and plant grounds
• Schedule and prioritize daily maintenance work orders to support production
• Coordinate reactive repairs and minimize equipment downtime
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
• Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling and mechanical building systems
• Coordinate outside contractors and facility improvement projects
• Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance supplies and tool crib organization
• Support general facility maintenance including building repairs, painting and grounds maintenance
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintenance procedures

What We're Looking For

• Associate's Degree or 5-10 years' maintenance leadership or maintenance management experience
• Previous experience supervising maintenance personnel
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills within manufacturing
• Experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs
• Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and building systems
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Experience managing contractors and capital improvement projects
• Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills including maintenance documentation
• Ability to work overtime and support emergency maintenance as required
