Bakery Packaging Clerk - 2nd Shift
Job Description:
We are hiring a dependable Bakery Packaging Associate (Level 1) for our afternoon shift. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring our freshly baked goods are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for distribution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining food safety and quality standards.
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Pay rate: $17.50
Responsibilities:
- Package a variety of baked goods according to company standards and production requirements.
- Apply accurate product labels, date codes, and packaging materials.
- Inspect products for quality, appearance, and packaging accuracy before shipment.
- Organize and prepare finished products for storage, delivery, or customer pickup.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Follow established procedures for handling, packaging, and storing bakery products.
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking packaging supplies as needed.
- Report product quality concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with production, baking, and warehouse teams to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30-50 pounds regularly.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements required.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures common in bakery and production environments.
- Afternoon shift with overtime opportunities based on business needs.
- Fast-paced bakery production environment.
