Job Openings for HVAC Service Technician or Plumbing Service Technician

* Location: West & Central Des Moines, Iowa

* Position Summary: We are seeking skilled HVAC Service Technicians and/or Plumbing Service Technicians to join our growing team in the Des Moines area. These roles perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and service work on residential and light commercial HVAC or plumbing systems. Successful candidates will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safe, professional service.

- Responsibilities and Job Duties :

• Repair and maintain HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, condensers, air handlers, and thermostats, or plumbing systems including water heaters, fixtures, piping, drains, and water service lines
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, cleaning, and system evaluations
• Use diagnostic tools, testing equipment, gauges, meters, and other trade-specific tools to identify issues and recommend solutions
• Document service findings, repairs completed, parts used, and future recommendations
• Communicate repair options, maintenance recommendations, and pricing clearly to customers
• Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures at all times
• Assist with installations, replacements, and system upgrades when needed

-Skills & Qualifications Needed:

• Experience in residential or commercial HVAC service, plumbing service, or related trades
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, plumbing, water heating, drainage, and piping systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

-Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, team-oriented field service environment
• Standard hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Busy seasons reach 50-60+ hours per week
• On-call rotation every six weeks (additional pay/bonuses)
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Daily use of hand tools, power tools, gauges, testing equipment, and service technology
• Dress code: jeans, work boots, work-appropriate shirt (company shirts provided)

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Ankeny, IA.

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
