Medication Technician for Assisted Living and Memory Care

Position Overview

The Gardens of Statesville Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to support residents in an assisted living and memory care setting. In this role, you will help ensure residents receive medications safely, accurately, and on schedule while promoting dignity, comfort, and a positive care experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications according to physician orders, care plans, and community policies.
• Assist residents with medication reminders and observe for changes in condition or behavior.
• Document medication administration, refusals, and any notable observations accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate concerns promptly to nursing leadership and other members of the care team.
• Support residents with activities of daily living as permitted by role, training, and facility guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with medication storage, handling, and disposal procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety, and privacy standards at all times.
• Provide respectful, person-centered care to residents living with memory loss and other support needs.
• Assist with inventory checks, medication cart organization, and supply restocking as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification or licensure as required by state regulations for medication administration in assisted living or long-term care settings.
• Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or a related healthcare environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and directions from clinical leadership.

Work Environment
