Ultrasound Technologist - Imaging Department

Job Title Ultrasound Technologist Department Imaging Schedule Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Essential Job Functions Provides comprehensive care to patients requiring ultrasound services in an organized and systematic manner according to departmental policy and standards. Follows appropriate protocol for ultrasound studies unless specified differently by the Radiologist. Follows ultrasound protocols for biopsies and other interventional procedures if required. Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety. Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation. Obtains and documents patient history and pertinent information. Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies provider orders. Ensures exam room cleanliness after each procedure. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care. Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations. Prepares patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety. Operates and modifies equipment and technical factors as needed. Conducts routine quality control checks to ensure equipment is in acceptable condition. Reports equipment malfunctions or problems following department standards. General Job Functions Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations. Attends departmental meetings. Performs other job duties as required. Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements Minimum 2 years experience in an outpatient and/or hospital setting (preferred). ARDS/MSD certification in OB/GYN or AB required. BLS certification required. Graduate of an accredited Sonography program. Proficient English communication, oral and written. Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and electronic medical records, RIS and PACS systems. Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed. Pay Hourly $42.12 – $52.69. Salary determination will be based on years of experience and location.
