Social Media Specialist

Job Summary The Social Media Specialist is responsible for being the voice of the brand across social platforms, largely coming to life through community management/engagement. In partnership with the Social Media Manager, the Specialist helps execute the social media strategy across content, community and creator strategies that engage consumers, bringing them closer to our brand and the products we bring to market. This position will find creative ways to interject our brand into conversations with consumers and culture to garner outsized attention. Essential Functions Leads content calendar creation and publishing across channels, in partnership with Social Media Manager. Manages all community responses on social channels, both reactive (i.e., addressing complaints in an appropriate manner) and proactive (i.e., praising guests who demonstrate advocacy on behalf of our brand). Leverages social listening tools to monitor brand conversations, engage with the community and report key insights, both proactively and reactively. Monitors social platforms for timely and relevant trending moments to insert the brand, supporting real-time content ideation and execution. Develops strategies and tactics to drive conversation with our brand advocates and communities. Supports development and execution of media drops, giveaways and surprise and delight moments. Supports the Social Media Manager in development of social content strategy, channel strategy, content ideation, creator campaigns, social-forward collaborations and campaign planning. Prepares reports on key social media performance across community, content and listening metrics. Education Bachelor's Degree, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline (Preferred) Work Experience 2-3 years of experience in social media, required. 2-3 years of experience in media, communications, marketing, or a related field, preferred. Experience with social analytics and listening platforms, required. Experience in retail, restaurant, food, or beverage industry, preferred. Skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of the key social media channels, tools and best practices, and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios. Ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side. Ability to demonstrate creativity and documented immersion in social media. Ability to write and edit communications and articulate the brand ‘voice’ in a creative, compelling, and witty manner.
