Boxing Assembly – Manufacturing/Production
Shifts: 2nd shift 4 pm - midnight, 3rd shift Midnight - 8 am Location: Eastlake, OH Pay Rate: 17.00 hourly
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Boxer to support our production team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in final packaging, quality checks, and ensuring all materials are prepared and organized for shipment. This position is the final step before product shipment and requires a high level of quality control and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Print box and tank labels for all tanks wound and on the line during your shift
- Prepare and assemble enough boxes for tanks and bases required during your shift
- Ensure 16" bases are flamed and taped, and 14" bases are flamed, for all relevant products
- Assemble single boxes for both 16" and 14" bases as needed
- Act as final quality control checkpoint — inspect tanks for cosmetic issues such as loose strands, fuzz, dry spots, or resin in unwanted areas
- Set aside questionable tanks and notify quality control or a supervisor
- Return rework tanks to appropriate winder or label for rework if no winder is available
- Record and dispose of non-repairable tanks, ensuring all scrap documentation is properly completed
- For tanks 60" or taller, flame, glue, and level the base
- Sand and spray tails on Cabinet Plug, T&B No Base, and 16" tanks
- Use drill to clean inlets on T&B tanks (except UF models)
- Apply shift stickers on all gaylords and single boxes
- Organize and stack finished boxes correctly in shipping area
- Change dome hole equipment based on tank size and finish cutting process with filing, glue, and inspection under light
- Unbundle new skids of gaylords and remove protective packaging
- Replenish boxing supplies (skids, foam collars, tape, glue, etc.) as needed
- Return hangers to winding department
- Clean dome hole cutter machine after use
- Maintain cleanliness of boxing area — dispose of trash, sweep, and manage scrap materials
Requirements
- Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- High attention to detail
- Strong understanding of quality standards
- Able to follow detailed instructions and work independently
- Manufacturing or production experience preferred
