Position Paramedic – Bibb Area, 36201 Navicent Health Medical Center - Ambulance Services Job Details Full‑time position, 40 hours per week. Pay range: $24.10 – $36.15 per hour. Job Description Provides Basic Life Support to patients of the following age groups: Infant (0‑12 months), Toddlers (1‑3 years), Pre‑schoolers (3‑6 years), School Aged (6‑12 years), Adolescents (12‑21 years), Adults (21‑65 years) and Gerians (65+) dispatched throughout the Emergency Medical Services area. Major Responsibilities Provides advanced life support to patients according to established standards and guidelines. Accurate and legible documentation that adheres to EMS protocols. Serves as a role model and resource person to other EMS personnel. Provides fellow staff members with help as necessary. Performs safe and courteous driving. Provides accurate and legible patient charge information. Performs patient assessment and correct airway management. Documents patient care according to professional (Department) standards. Documents non‑transports accurately and properly. Follows treatment protocols for patient care. Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required Must hold a current Georgia Paramedic License and be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) with no lapses. Must maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License and a driving record that meets the Hospital Driving Policy. Must comply with current federal and Georgia laws regarding emergency medical services and meet hospital requirements for a criminal background check. Education Required Minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED. Experience Required Minimum 1‑3 years of experience as a Paramedic. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Utilize initiative and independent action within the framework of professional assignments. Apply good judgment when evaluating alternatives in unorthodox situations. Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to exercise tact and diplomacy with physicians, patients, and family members. Work accurately under stress and emergency situations. Handle confidential information with discretion. Consistently follow prescribed treatment protocols for patient conditions. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Visual acuity: near and distance. Verbal communication in person and over phone or radio. Assist co‑workers with transfers and transport of supplies/equipment using proper body mechanics. Functional range of motion of cervical, thoracic, lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with grip strength appropriate to job level. Forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel, and rapid position changes. Lift 50‑80 lbs and carry 50‑80 lbs specific to job level. Pass cardiac recovery test if classified under POPE D. Tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres, noxious odors. Remain calm under stressful situations in all weather conditions. Assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Assist co‑workers with multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously. Compensation Base compensation within the pay range of $24.10 – $36.15 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift and on‑call pay.
