Essential Duties Model a service attitude towards others, take ownership in solving problems, and take initiative to improve service, while remaining friendly and courteous to residents, patients, visitors, and co‑workers. Ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co‑worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards. Provide resident therapy treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Document treatment and progress notes and other clinical work in the medical record per departmental policy and procedure. Provide resident, family, and staff education pertaining to Occupational Therapy modalities to ensure understanding and proficiency of care. Demonstrate good clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatments in which trained to provide. Screen residents to determine their potential benefit from Occupational Therapy intervention and communicate need for intervention to Occupational Therapist. Develop, direct, and/or participate in Occupational Therapy programming for the residents. Attend in‑services and other meetings as required on an ongoing basis. Maintain continuing education per state licensure requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Occupational Therapist and Director of Rehab. Minimum Qualifications Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas. Knowledge of therapy industry and federal, state and local government regulations. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated efficiency strategies for fast‑paced environments. Experience in SNF/LTC/IL/AL/OP setting or mature population rehabilitation and wellness needs. Experience with PDPM treatment and reimbursement policy. Basic computer skills – Outlook, Word, Excel. Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, special needs and hospice patients. Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements. Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities. Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures. #J-18808-Ljbffr
