About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Advancement to provide strategic leadership and operational support in the areas of major gift fundraising, campaign execution, and alumni and donor engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a network of constituents, including alumni, donors, and community leaders, and will personally participate in the full cycle of major gift fundraising. This role requires a strong emphasis on solicitations of gifts or pledges of $25,000 and above, and the AVP will be expected to lead and supervise a team of key advancement professionals. The position also involves serving as an ambassador for development and alumni relations, representing the institution with integrity and a commitment to its Christian values and principles. Applicants for the Assistant Vice President for Advancement position at the company should have a demonstrated understanding of development techniques, major gift fundraising, and campaign strategy. A bachelor's degree is required, with a master's degree preferred, and at least ten years of experience in advancement or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a background in conducting major fundraising campaigns within higher education and possess the management skills to lead a team in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build lasting relationships, and a high level of confidentiality are essential. The role also demands a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and to travel as needed.
