Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum periods according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, perform ongoing assessments, and respond to changes with appropriate escalation.
- Administer medications as ordered, monitor responses, and document effects; assist with anesthesia and pain management as needed.
- Provide labor and delivery support, including aiding in cesarean deliveries when required, and coordinate with the neonatal team as indicated.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, neonatology, and other disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care; communicate changes in care plans clearly.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff on the unit, applying clinical judgment and supervisory discretion to coordinate care.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California
- Minimum 1 year of recent labor and delivery nursing experience
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week schedule
- Strong bedside assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with obstetric care teams and coordinate care in a fast-paced unit
