POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Recruiter is responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies to attract, engage, and hire qualified healthcare providers, including physicians, advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs), psychologists, therapists, and other licensed clinicians. This role partners closely with operational leaders and clinical leadership to identify workforce needs, build candidate pipelines, and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE:

The Human Resource Department provides operational leadership in Human Resource management to all employees of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and SVHSC. Human Resource policies and procedures and practices are in accord with the hospital’s mission and strategies, prevailing state and federal employment laws and Collective Bargaining Agreements. Human Resources provides the full spectrum of Human Resource services to managers and employees including employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits management, recruitment/selection/placement, performance management, development planning and organizational effectiveness, and education service support.

The department interfaces with department heads and employees across all departments, senior management, medical staff, community members, legal counsel and various staff/federal governmental agencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

RECRUITMENT & TALENT ACQUISITION

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for clinical and provider-level positions. 
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract qualified clinicians across multiple specialties. 
• Source candidates through job boards, professional associations, residency and fellowship programs, networking events, referrals, and social media. 
• Conduct candidate screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and clinical leaders. 
• Maintain a consistent pipeline of passive and active candidates for hard-to-fill clinical positions. 
• Track recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate conversion rates, and vacancy trends.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clinician candidates throughout the recruitment process. 
• Build and maintain relationships with medical schools, residency programs, professional organizations, and healthcare networks. 
• Collaborate with physician leaders, department chairs, practice administrators, and executive leadership regarding staffing needs. 
• Represent the organization at recruitment events, career fairs, conferences, and residency outreach programs.

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE & HIRING PROCESS

• Coordinate interview schedules, site visits, and candidate travel arrangements. 
• Facilitate offer development and negotiations in partnership with Human Resources and leadership. 
• Ensure timely communication with candidates throughout the hiring process. 
• Support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition from acceptance through start date.

COMPLIANCE & RECORDKEEPING

• Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking system documentation. 
• Ensure recruitment activities comply with federal, state, and organizational hiring regulations. 
• Coordinate credentialing and licensure verification requirements as needed. 
• Support workforce planning initiatives and provider staffing analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field. 
• Minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience, preferably in healthcare recruitment. 
• Knowledge of recruitment strategies, candidate sourcing methods, and employment practices. 
• Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruitment technologies. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

• Hybrid or onsite work environment, depending on organizational needs. 
• Occasional travel to recruitment events, conferences, residency programs, and candidate site visits. 
• May require evening or weekend attendance at recruitment-related events.

Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155

In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
