Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary

1. Responsible for overseeing cost accounting activities and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
2. Ensure accuracy of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
3. Support operational decision-making through cost transparency and data-driven analysis.

Key Responsibilities - Cost Accounting

1. Maintain and update standard costs (material, labor, overhead) in ERP system.
2. Lead annual standard cost roll and periodic cost updates.
3. Analyze and explain material, labor, and overhead variances.
4. Monitor scrap, rework, and yield impacts on product cost.
5. Support quoting process with cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities - Inventory Control

1. Ensure accurate inventory valuation under standard costing.
2. Reconcile inventory subledger to General Ledger monthly.
3. Lead physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
4. Monitor inventory aging, slow-moving, and obsolete stock.
5. Review and validate scrap, DMR, and rework transactions.

Manufacturing & Operations Support

1. Partner with production and supply chain teams to analyze cost drivers.
2. Track OEE impact and scrap rate on cost performance.
3. Provide monthly cost performance reporting and KPIs.
4. Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs.

Month-End & Reporting

1. Perform month-end cost closing procedures.
2. Prepare cost-related journal entries.
3. Analyze inventory reserves and propose adjustments.
4. Support internal and external audit requirements.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
2. At least 2 years' accounting experience in cost accounting or GL in manufacturing.
3. Familiarity with USGAAP.
4. Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle preferred).
5. Advanced Excel skills required.
6. Strong analytical mindset.
7. Ability to work cross-functionally with operations.
