Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
PAY: $30-$45 depending on experience
Job Description
This role combines maintenance electrician and maintenance mechanic responsibilities, focusing on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical systems and production equipment. You work with automatic and process controls, switchboards, control panels, relays, circuit breakers, and electronic control systems while following NEC codes and protocols. You also support general and preventive maintenance activities and contribute to rebuilding and upgrading machinery to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including automatic and process controls, switchboards, control panels, relays, circuit breakers, and electronic control systems.
• Follow NEC codes and protocols to ensure all electrical work meets applicable standards and safety requirements.
• Plan and lay out wiring for complex circuits and equipment installations with multiple connections and power demands.
• Set up and maintain secondary power distribution systems, including load balancing and power distribution for manufacturing operations.
• Diagnose electrical issues, identify root causes, and replace or repair defective components such as control modules and other electrical parts.
• Perform electrical testing, calibration, and system adjustments to verify proper operation and improve equipment performance.
• Carry out general maintenance and preventive maintenance on production equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Rebuild, upgrade, and modify machinery and equipment to improve reliability, safety, and productivity.
• Troubleshoot and support PLC-based control systems, including identifying and resolving issues in PLC programs.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to prioritize repairs and maintenance activities and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Document work performed, maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, and follow established procedures and safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience performing maintenance electrical and mechanical work on production equipment.
• Strong motor control knowledge, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair of motor control circuits.
• Proficiency in electrical installation and assembly, including complex wiring layouts and equipment connections.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and controls, diagnose faults, and implement effective repairs.
• Experience working with automatic and process controls, switchboards, control panels, relays, circuit breakers, and electronic control systems.
• Ability to set up and maintain secondary distribution systems, including load balancing and power distribution.
• PLC programming and PLC troubleshooting skills, including working with industrial control systems.
• Strict adherence to NEC codes and protocols and strong understanding of electrical safety practices.
• Familiarity with process instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, and proximity sensors.
• California DIR Industrial Electrician Certification.
• ISA CCST Certified Control Systems Technician certification.
• Completion of OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training.
• NFPA 70E training in electrical safety in the workplace.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of City Of Industry, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
