Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical With Telemetry, Wilson, NC. The position provides nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry and medical-surgical overflow setting. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, admissions and discharges, critical thinking, and care for patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; associate degree; minimum 1.5 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation, critical thinking, discharge and admission management, and basic cardiac drip knowledge.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; weekend coverage required every other or every third weekend.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The role supports a 22-bed unit with typical patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1 and may include medical-surgical overflow assignments. Patient care includes adult and geriatric populations with conditions such as congestive heart failure, chest pain, acute respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and post-cardiac-catheterization recovery. Team-oriented and flexible professionals are preferred. Artificial nails are not permitted.
