USA Health Hospitalist Medicine Opportunity

Responsibilities

USA Health is seeking board certified or board eligible Internal Medicine physicians to join the Hospitalist Medicine team at USA Health Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. This opportunity provides a dedicated swing shift schedule designed to strengthen physician coverage during periods of high admission volume and support the continued growth of inpatient services at Providence Hospital.

The Swing Shift Hospitalist will work a 7 on/7 off schedule from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat hospitalized patients using appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills and will serve as an admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician based on the needs of patients, the medical staff, and the hospital.

The position is expected to manage approximately six to eight admissions per shift, with an emphasis on higher acuity and medically complex patients. The physician will also assist with call coverage for existing hospitalized patients for approximately half of the overnight period. The Swing Shift Hospitalist will work collaboratively with the nocturnist and other members of the hospitalist team to provide safe, timely, and efficient patient care during periods of increased admission volume.

The physician will participate in efforts to improve the quality, safety, and cost effectiveness of patient care and will provide timely and appropriate clinical documentation that meets hospital, regulatory, and payer requirements. Participation in medical education, research, and other academic activities may be requested.

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree, or equivalent. Required

Completion of an ACGME accredited U.S. Internal Medicine residency. Required

U.S. board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine. Required

Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama. Required

Commitment to high quality, collaborative inpatient care. Required

Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
