FOOD UNIT LEAD at Aiken County Public Schools (FULL TIME)

Chartwells K12 – Food Unit Lead Location: Aiken County Public Schools – 1163 Ergle Street, Graniteville, SC 29829. Online applications only. Employment type: Full time (Schedule varies between 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 6:30 AM–3:00 PM). Pay: $18.24 per hour. Internal employee referral bonus available. Qualifications Previous supervisory experience. Food service and customer service experience. ServSafe certification. Job Summary Coordinates the activities of food‑service employees to create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides quality customer service by offering detailed, one‑on‑one attention. Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control. Helps plan menus. Ensures timely, efficient meal service; supervises serving of meals. Responds to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint and via email for electronic complaints. Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Uses proper systems for required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory‑cash reports, production records, payroll, and time‑keeping. Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual (deposits, petty cash, change funds). Orders food and supplies from approved sources. Directs and participates in overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Develops sanitation schedule and ensures employees adhere to cleaning schedules for kitchen, dining area, and utensils. Issues written and oral instructions. Helps select and orient employees; oversees staff training in their areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
