Feedlot Feed Truck Driver

Summary Operates a feed truck to deliver accurate feed rations to cattle along a designated route. Ensures consistent, timely feeding and supports overall herd health by following established feeding schedules and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Feeds cattle on an established pen route; unloads feed truck contents into the concrete feed bunks according to the Feed Boss' instructions. Loads feed truck with proper feed proportions according to the individual ration requirements. Cleans the feed truck; takes the truck to be serviced by Company mechanics. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to managers and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Additional Skills and Abilities Ability to operate a 10 wheeler truck.
