Education Law / Attorney

Position: Education Law / School Board Attorney Location: Remote — Central Florida region, with occasional client travel (a few times per month) Experience Required: Minimum 5 years Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an Education Law Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join its team, focusing on representation of school boards and other educational entities across Central Florida. This is a remote position, with travel required a few times per month to meet with clients. Responsibilities: Serve as counsel to school board and/or educational agency clients on a wide range of governance and operational matters Advise on compliance with federal and Florida education law, including Title IX, IDEA, FERPA, and Florida Statutes governing public education Attend and advise at school board meetings, workshops, and hearings (in person as needed) Draft and review policies, contracts, and administrative resolutions Represent clients in administrative proceedings, including student discipline, employment, and special education matters Advise on public records, Sunshine Law, and procurement compliance Coordinate with litigation team on disputes involving school board clients Build and maintain relationships with school board members, superintendents, and administrative staff Travel within Central Florida a few times per month for in-person client meetings and board sessions Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in Florida, in good standing Minimum 5 years of experience in education law, municipal law, or government/public entity representation Familiarity with Florida school board governance and administrative law Strong writing, advisory, and public-speaking skills Comfortable working remotely with periodic in-person client travel #J-18808-Ljbffr VCG Attorney Recruiting
