Many of the classifications have a three-step pay-grade. An employee in any of these classifications is paid at the first step during his or her first season. This position also assists in the installation of various insect trap types, monitoring and maintaining traps, and insect collection; Data collection, compilation, and recording; Distributing Forest health materials and other public outreach activities and events; Following federal and state guidelines for field research, sample collection, data management, and reporting as well as equipment and facility maintenance.## Required Qualifications for AppointmentEligible candidates must have a Degree in Entomology, Forestry/Forest Management, Plant pathology, (Forest) Ecology, Botany, OR similar biological science, OR be currently enrolled in college and having had courses in those disciplines OR have equivalent field experience. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be able to work outdoors, often in varying weather and environmental conditions. This position requires a commitment of a 35-hour work week, occasionally on a weekend, from spring through the fall, with some flexibility with scheduled work hours and start/end dates.
