Head of Power Trading

We are seeking a Head of Power Trading to lead a high-performance speculative trading desk within a well-capitalized trading firm. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of strategy, risk, and P&L across North American power markets. Responsibilities Lead and scale the power trading desk with a focus on speculative short‑term and term trading. Develop, implement, and refine trading strategies across ISO markets (PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, NYISO). Manage a team of traders and analysts, ensuring disciplined risk management and strong commercial performance. Identify new market opportunities, optimize positions, and drive innovation in trading models and data usage. Partner with senior leadership on capital allocation, technology, and growth initiatives. Experience Proven track record of strong P&L generation in North American power markets. Expertise in physical, term, and virtual power trading. Deep understanding of fundamentals, congestion, and ISO market dynamics. Strong leadership and mentoring ability with a commercial mindset. Entrepreneurial approach suited to a fast-moving, speculative environment.
