Job Posting: Licensing Registration Examiner Department: Department of Motor Vehicles Salary: $4,810.00 - $5,899.00 per Month Location: San Diego Clairemont Field Office, San Diego Term: 12 Month Limited Term – Full Time (may be extended to 24 months and may become permanent) Under general direction of a manager in a Grade V field office with minimal day‑to‑day supervision, the Licensing‑Registration Examiner performs the most difficult and sensitive work in an environment that routinely requires a calm, courteous, and tactful approach in providing customer service. The incumbent interacts respectfully and effectively with supervisors, peers, other departmental employees, and supporting agencies, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office. Working Conditions Saturday/extended office hours may be required. The position may require rotation through neighboring field offices. Minimum Requirements Applicants must be eligible for appointment (e.g., must take and pass examination). Eligibility includes having authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not provide visa sponsorship at this time. Applicants must also meet the Minimum Qualifications as stated in the Classification Specification. Special Requirements The position requires a valid California Driver’s License (CDL). Applicants must provide CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on the application. Applicants must undergo a Background Investigation before hire. Applicants must obtain Medical Clearance before hire. Position may involve substance testing. Selected candidate will be required to participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
