Exciting OpportunitiesAs a General Surgeon within the Army's healthcare team, you will be engaged in cutting-edge medical and surgical practices, performing a diverse array of procedures. The advancements spearheaded by the Army Medical Department enhance patient outcomes and transform medical practices, ranging from pioneering regenerative medicine to creating 3-D anatomical models that aid in surgical planning before and after operations. Your responsibilities will include examining, diagnosing, consulting, prescribing treatment plans, and conducting surgeries for Soldiers, retirees, and their families. Additionally, you will have the chance to participate in ongoing education programs, specialized training, seminars, and conferences, allowing you to learn, develop, and collaborate with fellow general surgeons for the benefit of your patients and the Army as a whole.

- A current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico is necessary.
- Eligibility for board certification is required.
- Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship is mandatory.
- Completion of a training program in general surgery is essential.
- U.S. citizenship is required for Active Duty service.
- A permanent U.S. residency is necessary for Army Reserve candidates.
