Branch Manager

Branch Manager – Freight Forwarding / NVOCC | (Greater Boston) A well-established international freight forwarding and customs brokerage company with a strong US network is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead its Boston-area branch. This is a top-level, hands-on leadership role overseeing all branch operations — commercial, operational, financial, and compliance — while working closely with the national management team to grow revenue and profitability at the location. Key Responsibilities Own daily, weekly and monthly reporting to monitor and audit branch operations. Supervise and motivate all branch staff, ensuring accurate, timely execution across the board. Review monthly P&L against budget and drive strategies toward higher profitability. Ensure compliance with local and international shipping/customs regulations in partnership with the corporate compliance team. Maintain strong working knowledge of customs software and in-house operational/CRM systems. Own all customer relationships and support the development of the sales team. Build and negotiate rates with local vendors (trucking, warehousing, ocean carriers). Identify, hire, train and develop branch staff, building a long-term growth path for the office. Oversee and lead the Customs Brokerage department, ensuring compliance with company policy and US Customs regulations. Manage the preparation of customs entries and overall department workflow. Train and mentor brokerage staff on regulations, HTS codes and best practice. Monitor team performance, audit shipment documentation, and flag/resolve compliance issues in coordination with the compliance function. Work closely with the branch's licensed Permit Holder on onboarding, POAs and bonds per company SOPs. What You'll Need Bachelor's degree. Minimum 10 years' experience in freight forwarding and US Customs management of consumer goods — beverage sector experience is a strong plus. Superior knowledge of NVOCC functions. Strong leadership track record, with experience developing and retaining teams. Excellent communication skills, both internal and client-facing. Reporting Line Reports into regional and national leadership overseeing US/Mexico operations and customs/customer experience.
