Job Description A Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) at AdventHealth Medical Group Wesley Chapel will provide comprehensive care services including assessments, monitoring, education, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. The role involves patient care, documentation, teaching, and ensuring continuity across the continuum. Perform initial and ongoing assessments of self‑care, psychosocial needs, education, environment, and discharge planning. Utilize observation, inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation, including basic diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures for screening physical signs and symptoms. Conduct fetal monitoring screening and assessment of fetal heart tones. Assess learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family, including cultural, religious, language, emotional, educational, motivational, and limitation factors. Document patient care findings within established standards and accreditation requirements. Knowledge and Skills Required Manage the medical plan of care prescribed for the client, based on protocols or guidelines adopted with the certified nurse midwife and attending physician. Initiate referrals and coordinate care with physicians, other providers, and community agencies. Provide accurate, thorough, and timely reports of patient conditions to physicians and multidisciplinary team members. Initiate multidisciplinary teaching plans covering medication use, nutrition, food‑drug interactions, equipment use, rehabilitative techniques, and community resources. Communicate care plans across the continuum by completing transfer and discharge summary forms. Select therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient needs and desired outcomes. Implement care according to the patient’s plan of care in collaboration with the patient/significant other and health care team. Use critical‑thinking skills to make sound clinical judgments reflected in practice patterns and patient outcomes.
