Manufacturing Process Engineer

This role focuses on designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability. The Manufacturing Process Engineer applies structured problem-solving methods, implements process control systems, and uses data-driven analysis to optimize operations. This position also plays a key role in documenting processes, training operators and peers, and leading small-scale process development and improvement projects within a growing organization that invests in its people and offers long-term career opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new manufacturing processes and enhance existing processes to improve performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Solve process-related problems using fundamental engineering principles and structured problem-solving methods such as Kepner-Tregoe (KT), designed experimentation, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Implement process control and process discipline systems into manufacturing operations to ensure consistent and stable production.
  • Analyze process data using statistical tools, including Pareto analysis, regression analysis, time charting, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and gauge R&R studies.
  • Measure and clearly communicate process performance against established objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Review and interpret process data to recommend immediate corrective actions, long-term corrective actions, and follow-up experiments.
  • Document manufacturing processes in a clear and structured manner to ensure repeatability and compliance with internal standards.
  • Train operators and peers on defined processes, ensuring consistent understanding and adherence to process requirements.
  • Lead small process development and continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • Support equipment installation and commissioning activities by developing and refining processes around new or modified equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and process excellence within the manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of work experience in manufacturing process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes and process engineering within a production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mentality with a focus on process improvement and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process control and process discipline systems in manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency in using statistical tools for process data analysis, including Pareto analysis, regression analysis, time charting, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and gauge R&R.
  • Ability to measure, track, and communicate performance against established objectives and metrics.
  • Experience documenting processes and creating clear, structured process instructions or standards.
  • Capability to train operators and peers on defined processes and ensure consistent execution.
  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Capability to lead small process development and improvement projects from planning through execution.
  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods such as Kepner-Tregoe (KT), designed experimentation, or Six Sigma.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with equipment installation or commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Innovation experience, including developing or implementing new process concepts or technologies.
  • Process excellence certification, such as Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment

This is an onsite role with a standard schedule of approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is based in a manufacturing environment where the engineer works closely with production operations, equipment, and process data. Some travel to a Noblesville location is required during the first year to support process development, alignment, and collaboration with other teams. The work setting emphasizes hands-on engagement with manufacturing equipment, process control systems, and continuous improvement activities, providing an environment that supports professional growth and long-term career development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Company has PTO, Benefits, 401k
