Pharmacy Automation TechnicianThe Pharmacy Automation Technician is responsible for set-up and safe operation of the designated production equipment in CareTria / KnippeRx Pharmacy fulfillment. Responsibilities will include feeding supplies, including drug products and packaging materials, into the machines, and ensuring the hoppers are equally fed with raw materials so that the machines are running at capacity.The Pharmacy Automation Technician will be able to diagnose and treat some mechanical problems, making minor repairs or adjustments and replacing machine components utilized in production. Ongoing monitoring of the output is necessary to confirm the machines are operating as expected, and to produce the final product that complies with Pharmacy Quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Perform all tasks in compliance with the Board of Pharmacy, SOPs, Equipment Manuals, and OSHA regulations.Setup, adjust and maintain sachet creation machines and packaging line.Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance steps in compliance with manual.Assist with loading rolls of film onto the sachet machine, and ensure it is properly alignedMaintain levels of raw materials, including drug product, across multiple hoppers on each machine to make sure they are running at capacity and to minimize defects.Identify defects and make appropriate changes to prevent ongoing waste.Perform some troubleshooting, making minor repairs where needed.Escalate more complicated equipment problems to Production Mechanics.Collaborate with Production Mechanics by providing a summary of the issue and trouble-shooting steps already taken.Minimize downtime on the machines and communicate any downtime to Management.Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.Perform evening shutdown tasks, including recording of daily output.Minimum Job Requirements:High School diploma or equivalentState specific Pharmacy Technician License, or commitment to complete the 'technician in training' requirements approved by the state specific Board of Pharmacy, within 6 months of hire dateAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English languagePreferred Education and Experience:One (1) year of previous specialty pharmacy technician experience with exposure to fulfillment of prescription ordersOne (1) year of pharmacy operations or logistics experienceNationally certified through the PTCB or another approved certifying agencyKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong technical understanding and expertiseAbility to diagnose and treat mechanical problems quickly and effectivelyGood hand-eye coordination and steady handsEffective communication skills with co-workers, management, and mechanicsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving and organization skillsAbility to learn from a variety of techniquesAbility to follow established process flowsBasic math skillsAbility to recognize subtle differences in names and numbersAbility to work effectively in highly stressful situations, exhibiting flexibility in changing situationsKnowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numerals), brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminologyComputer literacy to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, communication and collaboration tools, and Adobe PDF or comparablePhysical Demands:Location of job activities 100% insideNoise and / or vibrations exposureReaching (overhead), handling, and feelingStand, bend, stoop and sit for prolonged periods of timeLift, carry, and move up to 50 poundsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The actual compensation for the position may vary based on market differences and on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and can vary based on location and/or work schedule.
