Systems Analyst

Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the "Best Places to Work" in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Systems Analyst to join our Systems Services team in Novato, California. The Systems Analyst supports the effective use, enhancement, and ongoing improvement of assigned business applications and related processes through system enhancements or automations. The position works with Business stakeholders, Technology, Information Security, vendors, and other partners to understand operational needs, analyze system and workflow issues, document requirements, test changes, and implement practical solutions. The Systems Analyst serves as a functional subject-matter resource for an assigned business area or application. Responsibilities include functional application support, business-process analysis, requirements documentation, authorized system configuration, testing, reporting, workflow improvement, and automation within the assigned area.

Essential Job Functions: Business Application Support Serve as a functional resource for assigned business applications, systems, and related processes. Research, troubleshoot, and coordinate resolution of application, workflow, data, and system-related issues. Coordinate with business units, Technology, vendors, and other stakeholders to support assigned applications and processes. Assist with system upgrades, releases, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance activities. Business Analysis and Process Improvement Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities. Analyze business processes, workflows, and system functionality to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Gather, document, and validate business, functional, reporting, and control requirements. Recommend practical system and process improvements that support business objectives. System Enhancements and Automation Identify opportunities to improve workflows through system enhancements, automation, standardization, reporting, or improved business processes. Design, configure, test, implement, and support approved system enhancements and automation solutions. Support integrations, reporting solutions, and workflow improvements within assigned systems and applications. Testing and Implementation Support Develop and execute test plans for system changes, enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality. Coordinate or participate in user acceptance testing and implementation activities. Support end-user training, communications, documentation, and post-implementation follow-up. Reporting, Documentation, and Controls Develop and maintain procedures, process documentation, reporting requirements, and system related records. Assist with operational, audit, compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements associated with assigned systems. Support appropriate controls, documentation standards, and change-management processes. NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in special projects, system evaluations, vendor discussions, and continuous-improvement activities. Provide limited backup support for related systems or functions during absences, implementations, or business continuity events. Assist with reporting, data validation, system access, documentation, and operational support consistent with the overall scope and level of the position. Maintain awareness of relevant systems, workflow automation, reporting, data, approved AI capabilities, and process-improvement practices. Perform other duties consistent with the overall scope and level of the position. Professional Experience: 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training. Educational Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and/or training. The hiring hourly pay range for this position is $42.47 to $62.61. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
