Company Description Northeast Digestive Health Center is a specialized gastroenterology practice focused on consultative, diagnostic, treatment, and procedural services for conditions affecting the digestive tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary tree. A team of 12 board-certified gastroenterologists and 9 physician assistants work collaboratively to help patients maintain a healthy gastrointestinal system. Role Description The Physician Assistant Certified will provide comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions in a full-time, on-site role located in Concord, NC. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating treatment plans under the supervision of gastroenterologists. The role involves managing follow-up visits, monitoring chronic conditions, providing patient education on procedures, medications, and lifestyle modifications, and coordinating care within the clinic as needed. The Physician Assistant Certified will respond to patient inquiries, document encounters in the electronic health record, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Qualifications Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and active, unrestricted North Carolina PA license, or eligibility to obtain one. Demonstrated clinical skills in performing focused histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and managing treatment plans for adult patients. Experience or strong interest in gastroenterology, hepatology, or internal medicine; prior work in a specialty clinic or procedural setting is preferred. Ability to provide clear, empathetic patient education on gastrointestinal conditions, procedures, medications, and lifestyle recommendations. Proficiency with electronic health records, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory and safety standards. Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and support staff. Ability to manage a steady patient volume, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment. Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program; advanced training or CME in gastroenterology or hepatology is a plus.
