Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) RN – Pennsylvania

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania

Schedule: Critical Care Float Pool assignment with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 3:1. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. No on-call shifts. 36-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Advanced cardiovascular ICU experience in a Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital environment
• Care for adult patients post-cardiac surgery including AVR, MVR, CABG, and other cardiac surgical procedures
• Work with sophisticated equipment including Swan-Ganz catheters, mechanical devices, arterial lines, and ECMO
• Float pool position offering diverse clinical experiences across critical care units
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including interpretation services
• 11-bed specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit

Requirements:

• Active Pennsylvania RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Critical Care Float Pool experience strongly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching Hospital and Level I Trauma Facility experience required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Proficiency with cardiovascular procedures including arterial line management, central line care, pulmonary artery monitoring, IABP, ventilator management, and titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Pennsylvania state fingerprinting and background clearance required
• Completion of clinical competency examination required for clearance
