Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant Location: Memphis, TN 38117 Employment Type: Part-time (12-18 hours/week) Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday; Flexible within daytime hours, typically ending by 5 PM Compensation: $25-30/hour Start Date: ASAP Requirements Can maintain a smoke-free environment Reliable transportation (gas mileage reimbursement provided) Clean driving record Comfortable working with young children About Our Family We are a busy family of five, navigating the day-to-day with two working parents, three young children, and our laid‑back, dog. With both parents working outside the home, we need someone who can help us create a sense of balance and order amidst the busyness. We value structure, but also a sense of warmth and flexibility, as we want our home to be a place where we can truly connect as a family after a long day. Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who will bring a calm, adaptable energy to our home, helping us focus on spending quality time together. Who You Are / What We’re Looking For We are looking for a self‑directed, detail‑oriented individual with a project manager mentality—someone who can take ownership of household tasks and systems with minimal direction. You are organized, proactive, and capable of multitasking, with the ability to adapt to our family’s evolving needs. This role includes helping maintain the day‑to‑day flow of our home through tasks such as laundry, tidying and resetting shared spaces, keeping things organized, and occasionally assisting with school or activity drop‑offs and pick‑ups. You are comfortable around children and pets, with a professional demeanor that fits seamlessly into our home. You are also confident in the kitchen and enjoy preparing simple, healthy meals that support a busy household. Most importantly, you take initiative and enjoy helping create a calm, organized environment for a busy family. We need someone who is flexible, understands the importance of anticipating needs, and enjoys being a trusted partner in managing our household. Key Responsibilities Household Management & Organization Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services (1x every other week on Mondays) Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high‑traffic areas Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys) Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups Coordinate with service providers (cleaners, landscapers, handymen) as needed Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays Inventory Management & Errands Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies Create and manage running household supply lists Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.) Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries Meal Planning & Preparation Plan and prep healthy meals and snacks for the whole family Batch‑cook weekly meals (3× per week) Shop for groceries and meal‑related items, following dietary preferences (gluten‑free parent) Clean kitchen post‑prep, maintaining tidiness throughout Laundry & Linen Care Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (clothing, bedding, towels) Occasionally iron, steam, and prepare outfits as needed Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials Keep laundry areas tidy and well‑stocked with supplies Pet Care Let the dog out in backyard occasionally Schedule and coordinate vet, grooming, or daycare appointments Administer monthly medications Keep pet supplies stocked and organized Vendor & Property Oversight Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers, car detailer) Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes Manage routine upkeep at the property Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs Serve as primary contact for vendors or guests Family Support & Child Assistance Assist with school/activity pick‑ups or drop‑offs Light supervision, playtime, or back‑up childcare Occasional date night coverage Help with child‑related laundry or errands Deep Cleaning & Special Projects Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, kitchen cabinets, etc.) Maintain and refresh specific areas (entryway, garage, mudroom) Organize special projects such as toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation Administrative & Personal Assistant Support Awareness family calendars and reminders Assist with coordination of events, appointments, and guest prep This role requires a background check. #J-18808-Ljbffr
