Senior Mainframe Developer

To support and enhance a suite of mainframe applications, the full-time remote Senior Mainframe Developer will leverage 8+ years of specialized technical experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM while acting as a technical lead and guiding junior team members. Key responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications while ensuring performance tuning and optimization Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex application and integration issues Develop technical documentation for business and support teams, aligning implementation options with business needs Required qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support, and maintenance Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies Experience with enterprise-level ticketing systems and operational workflows
