Lead Pastor

Lead Pastor Voyagers Bible Church in Irvine, California is seeking a Lead Pastor to faithfully preach God's Word, shepherd our congregation, and provide spiritual leadership. Serving as a member of the Elder Board, the Lead Pastor will help guide the church's vision, equip believers for spiritual growth, and support our staff and ministries in fulfilling our mission. About Voyagers Bible Church Located in Irvine, California, Voyagers Bible Church is a Christ-centered congregation of approximately 250 people, committed to glorifying God by loving Jesus, one another, and the world. Through biblical teaching, discipleship, and authentic community, we help people grow deeper in their faith. We seek a faithful shepherd and teacher to partner with our elders, staff, and congregation in leading our church into its next season of ministry. Key Responsibilities Teaching: Preach approximately 75% of Sundays, delivering biblically faithful, engaging sermons and overseeing the church's teaching ministry. Spiritual Leadership: Partner with the elders to develop, communicate, and implement the church's vision and ministry direction. Pastoral Care: Shepherd the congregation through prayer, counseling, discipleship, and pastoral care. Staff Oversight: Lead, mentor, and support pastoral staff and ministry leaders, fostering collaboration and accountability. Worship: Oversee worship planning, lead communion, officiate baptisms, weddings, and funerals. Community Outreach: Participate in outreach, missions, and relationships with local pastors and churches. Qualifications Biblical & Theological Qualifications Meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership (Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9). Demonstrates a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to godly character. Affirms Voyagers Bible Church's Statement of Faith and Reformed theology, emphasizing God's sovereignty, Scripture's authority, and the doctrines of grace. Is a married man who models Christ-centered leadership in his personal, family, and ministry life. Experience & Leadership Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of professional pastoral ministry experience. Bachelor's degree and a seminary or master's degree from a conservative theological seminary. Demonstrated ability to preach and teach Scripture clearly and effectively. Proven experience in ministry leadership, staff development, and church administration. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate with elders, staff, and volunteers.
