About This Role
Location: Covington, GA
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and engaging Afterschool Teacher to provide children with a safe and enjoyable environment once their regular school day has ended.
The ideal candidate can combine supervision with educational support and recreational activities while maintaining a positive atmosphere for school-aged children.
What You'll Do Responsibilities- Supervise children throughout the afterschool program
- Provide a smooth and welcoming transition from school to afterschool activities
- Assist children with homework, reading, and other school-related assignments
- Organize age-appropriate games, crafts, projects, and enrichment activities
- Encourage cooperation, responsibility, and positive peer interactions
- Help maintain appropriate classroom routines and expectations
- Assist with snacks and scheduled transitions
- Monitor attendance and maintain required program documentation
- Keep activity areas clean, safe, and organized
- Provide positive guidance when addressing behavioral concerns
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians
- Work with other staff to ensure the program operates smoothly
- Follow established safety, childcare, and program procedures
- CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous afterschool teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
