Portfolio Management Leader

Angott Search Group is partnering with a nearly $600MM Michigan Bank in the search for a Portfolio Management Leader.

This role leads portfolio management activities, supports commercial credit decisions, and works closely with lending and commercial administration teams to ensure strong portfolio performance and credit quality.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review detailed credit packages for commercial loan approvals, renewals, and restructures
• Lead and supervise Portfolio Management team members
• Oversee loan renewals, financial statement and covenant tracking, and ongoing portfolio management
• Partner with Business Development Officers to structure credits and support lending decisions
• Monitor construction projects to ensure budgets, timelines, and credit requirements are maintained
• Support Commercial Administration with credit and loan-related activities
• Ensure appropriate due diligence and documentation are completed prior to loan closing
• Audit closing documents to verify accuracy and compliance with approved terms and conditions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5–7 years of commercial banking experience.
• Strong knowledge of business banking and commercial lending credit policies and guidelines.
• Work-out or Special Assets experience preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial lending documentation, including title work, appraisals, flood determinations, lien searches, and UCC searches.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and expectations effectively.
• Experience with Fiserv preferred.
