Job Summary RN CVICU – Contract position in In-Office, San Luis Obispo, CA, United States. Auto Offer: Night Shift 3 x 12s or 4 x 12s; rotating shifts (no blocked schedules), 1900-0730. Requires TNCC, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Medical ICU/Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU. Call is rare. Responsibilities Provide nursing interventions in stable and emergent patient situations. Perform medication administration, intravenous therapy including blood products, and care & maintenance of indwelling catheters & drains. Safely use and maintain medical equipment used in the critical care setting. Interpret ECG rhythm and manage life‑threatening emergencies. Verify and adjust monitor alarms according to policy. Apply knowledge of lead functions, ICP, ventriculostomy, pulmonary artery monitoring, arterial pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and other ventilatory support devices. Assess changes in neurological symptoms and apply appropriate interventions. Initiate multidisciplinary, goal‑oriented care plans and collaborate with the health care team. Educate patients and families with appropriate teaching methods. Document care legibly, accurately, and timely. Perform unit‑specific safety and quality control checks (shift and 24‑hr MD order checks, VO/TO readback, crash cart checks, urine QC, refrigeration logs & outdate checks). Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Education/GED or equivalent (required). Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Passing completion of a Critical Care Nursing course (required). Six months previous critical care experience (preferred). Current RN license in the state of practice (required). Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS) certification (required). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS or HS-ACLS) certification (required). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year of hire (required). Current employees have 2 years to complete. Licenses / Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Healthstream Basic Life Support (HS-BLS) certification (required). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Healthstream Advanced Cardiac Life Support (HS-ACLS) certification (required). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year of hire (required).
