Join a growing construction management team supporting some of Southern California's most visible transportation and public infrastructure programs. The work supports large-scale transit, transportation, and infrastructure improvements throughout the Los Angeles region.

We are seeking a Senior Field Engineer / Senior Inspector to serve as a key field leader on active transportation and infrastructure construction projects.

This individual will provide day-to-day oversight of inspection activities, support construction management teams, coordinate with contractors and public agencies, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong field judgment with exceptional documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills. This is a highly visible role that requires the ability to work independently, lead field efforts, and drive issues through resolution in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Lead and provide day-to-day direction to project inspection staff and field personnel.
• Conduct and oversee field inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, utilities, designers, agency representatives, and project stakeholders.
• Lead field coordination meetings and document action items, decisions, and follow-up activities.
• Prepare and review daily reports, field documentation, progress reports, and inspection records.
• Monitor project quality, schedule performance, safety compliance, and construction progress.
• Identify field issues, risk factors, constructability concerns, and potential conflicts before they impact project delivery.
• Support change management efforts including documentation of field conditions, quantity verification, and issue resolution.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Project Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and inspection staff.
• Coordinate with public agencies, third parties, and utility owners to facilitate construction activities.
• Support night work, weekend work, or alternative work schedules when project conditions require.
• Serve as a trusted field representative on behalf of the project management and construction management team.

• 8+ years of construction inspection, field engineering, construction management, or transportation infrastructure experience.
• Experience leading field staff, inspectors, or construction oversight teams.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
• Experience preparing daily reports, documenting field conditions, and maintaining complete project records.
• Experience working directly with contractors in active construction environments.
• Strong communication, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites as required.

• Experience supporting transit, transportation, heavy civil, rail, roadway, bridge, utility, or public works projects.
• Experience working with public agencies, municipalities, transportation authorities, or infrastructure programs.
• Knowledge of change management, quantity verification, contractor coordination, and project controls processes.
• Familiarity with the City of Los Angeles Brown Book and Greenbook standards.
• Experience coordinating with public works agencies, transportation departments, or construction administration groups.
• ICC, ACI, or related construction inspection certifications.
• Experience supporting owner-representative, PM/CM, or agency-side construction management programs.

They are comfortable making decisions, coordinating multiple stakeholders, identifying issues early, and driving resolutions through completion.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major transportation and infrastructure programs while working alongside experienced construction management professionals on complex public-sector projects.

This is a Permanent position based out of Orange, CA.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Orange,CA.
