Head of Technology, AI Operations and Observability (US) (New York)

For our client, we are seeking a Head Of Technology AI Operations And Observability (us) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead continuous improvement work focused on process discipline, productivity, and measurable operating gains. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $200,000 – $280,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise strategy for Observability, AIOps, SRE, and incident intelligence
• Lead global teams for 24x7 operational visibility and resilience across technology services
• Transform monitoring from reactive to predictive, AI-assisted operations
• Embed observability practices into the engineering and operational workflows
• Forge trusted partnerships with engineering, risk, and control functions to ensure secure operations
• Establish governance for AI-enabled workflows prioritizing explainability and resiliency
• Enhance system reliability and customer experience by reducing outages

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate required
• 15+ years in development and technology delivery, Agile experience preferred
• Strong expertise in APM, Event Management, Operational Automation, and Reporting Platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, etc.)
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through ambiguity
• Demonstrated success in aligning teams to measurable outcomes and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
