Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Clinical Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of med/surg tele or critical care License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: 2+ years of relevant experience Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for coordinating patient care delivery by the healthcare team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems. The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care and evaluates the patient's response. Promoting safe passage for their patients is essential, as the RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment. The RN is responsible for assisting patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without preventable complications or delays. Delegation of interventions to healthcare personnel is based on the nursing practice act, each patient's condition, and the competencies of the employee. Registered Nurses work in hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24/7 staffing. The key responsibilities include: Conducting accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identifying and prioritizing patient and family needs. Developing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing plan of care. Modifying the plan to meet clinical outcomes. Systematically evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Supporting evidence-based practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning. Creating a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Developing therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Managing both emotional and physical pain to promote comfort and healing. Recognizing and incorporating a patient's unique differences into an individualized plan of care. Preserving and protecting the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and their families. Creating personalized plans that reflect patient and family values and goals. Facilitating learning for patients, families, and nursing staff throughout the continuum of care. Collaborating with colleagues and the community to implement integrated plans of care. Using strategies and available resources for problem-solving. Improving nursing practice and the work environment through shared governance and decision-making processes. Participating in continuing education, networking, and professional growth. Knowledge and skills required include: Understanding nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations regarding nursing care. Familiarity with medical terminology and principles of health promotion and disease prevention. Ability to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing. Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse constituencies. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
